Our thoughts are with our friends in Vanuatu recovering from the devastation left by severe cyclone Pam that ravaged the tiny Pacific island nation on 13 March 2015.

We have forged a strong connection with our Pacific Neighbour since we conducted our first 1,885 nautical mile international ocean yacht race from Melbourne to Vanuatu in 2006. During preparation for that first race, it became clear that we could do something more than just bring our much needed tourist dollar to the people of Vanuatu. So for each of the Melbourne to Vanuatu races (2006, 2010 & 2014), we have dispatched a shipping container with humanitarian aid, from generators, computers, clothing, sporting equipment, toys, reading books, pens/pencils, stationery, to school books. Yachts distributed the aid to villages during their cruising, after the races and made many friends and developed relationships with the local communities.
They need our help now more than ever.
http://orcv.org.au/index.php/vanuatu-humanitarian-aid

Supporting: Fundraise for Fiji

On Saturday 20 February 2016, Cyclone Winston — a powerful Category 5 storm — passed through the Fiji Islands. Communities in the direct path of Cyclone Winston have experienced catastrophic damage. At least 43 people have died and entire villages have been destroyed. More than 53,000 people are sheltering in evacuation centres around the country. Oxfam teams have been distributing lifesaving essentials – clean water, shelter and hygiene kits to those most affected. The situation is critical. Please make a donation to help deliver life saving emergency aid to the people of Fiji.
