I own a flower shop in Canberra - "Poetry in Flowers". I want to work to support the things that matter to me - addressing inequality, poverty.

Australia enjoys one of the highest life expectancies of any country in the world — but this is not true for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can expect to live 10–17 years less than other Australians. In fact, the mortality rates for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is on par with some of the world’s most impoverished nations.

I'm taking part in Oxfam's Close the Gap Challenge to change that.

The money raised through this Challenge will support Oxfam Australia’s work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

We believe that each and every Australian has the right to equal access to health, income, employment, education, and the chance to live a meaningful and positive life.

Oxfam Australia works across the areas of leadership and health, advocacy for policy and practice change, coalitions and campaigns, and active support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander self-determination and justice in the broader Australian community.
